Hello dreamers! At long last the cabaret comes to Raino Dance students.
Join Monique Salez our Artistic Director & creator of The Dream Cab(aret) in a 5.5 month creative workshop that rolls into an live show where your stories are cultivated & curated with the support & encouragement of Monique & a lovely, wilding crew of courageous creative humans. We will work progressively to invite your muses to come out to play, to expand your capacity to receive the work that longs to come through & develop the tools to create a piece that is uniquely yours. The final performance will be storywoven by Monique and produced in an intimate cabaret setting for an audience in mid February.
Cabaret’s origins is one of speaking to power, calling out for change and giving voice to the voiceless through humour, pathos & playful exchange. There is no better time to join the cabaret & lift your story to the light!
Limited spaces. Must be a student in at least 1 other full year program class. This class is a part of the full year program pricing yet is only charged for 5.5 months.
What to Bring
We are creating a playground for your inner creative so think sensorial to create a sweet spot of deep aliveness & coziness. Layers of clothing as we move through waves of warm-ups & quieter creation modes. A journal & writing utensils that make your process an artform in itself. I like colorful thin nib pens & big black art books with no lines…what do you like? Tea, chocolate, apples, or any snacks that fuel the fire. Finally, please bring your whole self including the nerves, the stories & an open mind to throw into the center of our creative circle as we let the process & our love of performative storytelling challenge, engage & delight us.
